About this tool

Find your attendance percentage and how many classes you can miss — or must attend — to stay above 75%. Attendance Calculator is part of ToolNest's collection of free student & career. It works instantly in your browser with no account and no installation.

How the attendance percentage is calculated

Attendance percentage = classes attended ÷ classes held × 100. If you attended 42 out of 60 classes, your attendance is 42 ÷ 60 × 100 = 70%.

How many classes do I need to attend to reach 75%?

If you are below the requirement, the number of classes you must attend in a row is:

needed = (required × held − attended) ÷ (1 − required), rounded up.

Example: 42 of 60 classes with a 75% requirement → (0.75 × 60 − 42) ÷ 0.25 = 12 classes. After 12 more classes you will have 54 of 72, which is exactly 75%.

How many classes can I miss and stay above 75%?

If you are above the requirement, the classes you can skip are:

can miss = attended ÷ required − held, rounded down.

Example: 54 of 60 classes (90%) → 54 ÷ 0.75 − 60 = 12 classes. Missing 12 leaves you at 54 of 72 = 75%.

Tips

• Count lab and tutorial sessions the way your college does — some count a 2-hour lab as two classes.
• Medical leave and approved duty leave are often added back, so ask your department before panicking.
• Recalculate every week: the earlier you catch a shortage, the fewer classes you need to recover.
